Definition Of:

Pollution

Dictionary of Cybernetics & SystemsDictionary of Cybernetics and Systems
Originally, impurity in relation to morals and religion, now material entropy, the dispersion of unusable particles of matter in a usable material resource, e.g., air pollution, chemical waste in rivers. It is generally costly and often impossible to separate the pollutants from the resource and an increase in pollution therefore decreases the usefulness of the resource. (Krippendorff )
