The study of structure or form and the features comprised in the form and structure of an organism or any of its parts, in which a definite behavioral approach is employed and a specific methodology is used. (John Warfield)
The study of the formal properties of something as opposed to its concrete material, physical or BEHAVIORal manifestations. The distinction goes back to the distinction between essence and substance which ignored the fact that the essence is also described by an observer. (Krippendorff )
